PVIP Application Requirements

PVIP stands for “Malaysia Premium Visa Programme.” It has a maximum validity of 20 years (5+5+5+5) and is a long-term stay visa for high-net-worth individuals that permits residence, employment, business ownership, and study in Malaysia. After expiration, it can be renewed for another 20 years. While MM2H visa has mandatory Malaysia residence requirements and property purchase conditions for visa holders under 50, PVIP has no residence obligation.

A New Visa Program Focused on Attracting High-Net-Worth Individuals

Generally speaking, there is a global trend toward stricter immigration policies for foreigners. However, Malaysia, being a multinational country, has been considered relatively easy to obtain visas. The traditional MM2H had as many as 8,000 applications per year at its peak.

The newly introduced Malaysia Premium Visa Programme (PVIP) is designed to attract high-net-worth individuals for long-term stays and investment. As a result, there are more applications from foreign companies rather than individuals. It is believed to be particularly aimed at attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

It is also suitable for educational relocation for international school enrollment, which has been gaining popularity!
