Residence Pass: Eligibility Requirements
- Have worked in Malaysia for at least 3 years.
- Hold a valid working visa with at least 3 months remaining validity at time of application.
- Receive a basic monthly salary of RM15,000. This excludes allowances and bonuses.
- Have a Malaysian income tax number and have paid income tax for at least 2 years.
- Hold a PhD/Master’s/Bachelor’s degree or diploma from an accredited university, or a professional/competency certificate from an accredited professional body.
- Have at least 5 years of work experience.
Important Confirmation Required
You need to obtain consent from your current employer regarding obtaining the RPT.
When the RPT is approved, your employment pass will be cancelled. Since the RPT is not tied to a specific company, you will be free to work anywhere. Please confirm whether you can obtain this consent from your company.

Document Preparation
- Copy of all passport pages
- Copy of current working visa
- Copy of employment contract
- Proof of income tax payment for the past 2 years
- Degree certificate or professional qualification certificate
- Work experience certificate (5+ years)
- Consent letter from employer
- Other documents prepared by us (your signature only required)

Online Application
Applications are submitted online. We will assist with account creation, document preparation and verification, communication with immigration, and final submission support.

Review Process
The time from application to issuance, including the review period, is approximately 6 months. We will contact you as soon as approval is confirmed.

Visa Issuance
After approval, the Residence Pass sticker will be affixed to your passport at the immigration office. Initially, a 5-year work and residence permit is issued, with an additional 5 years available after the first term.
