Durian Farm Investment
Durian Capital’s durian investment is a durian investment scheme that returns profits from durian plantations. It is the first and only financial product permitted under Malaysia’s Capital Markets and Services Act 2016. It is also a Shariah-compliant financial product.
Tropical Resort Lifestyle has partnered with Durian Capital as the exclusive distributor for the Japanese market. The development entity of Durian Capital is the Lotus Group, a well-established major company in Malaysia that operates restaurants, hotels, nursing homes, cinemas, and plantations.
Plantation Overview
Durian Capital’s durian plantation is located in the Jempol district of Negeri Sembilan State, approximately 2.5 hours south of central Kuala Lumpur by car. The plantation size is 570 acres (approximately 2.31 square km), equivalent to about 49 Tokyo Domes.
Of the total plantation, the area sold for durian farm investment is 200 acres (approximately 0.81 square km), limited to a total of only 8,000 units. Within the investment area, only Musang King (Cat Mountain King), considered the most popular and delicious variety of durian, is cultivated.
Durian Demand
The durian market is growing year by year
As of 2019, the global durian market size was approximately USD 18 billion. It is expected to exceed USD 25 billion by 2025 and grow to over USD 35 billion by around 2030.

The main factor is the surge in demand from China. China accounts for over 90% of the global durian market, recording 360 million kg of imports in 2019. In terms of value, durian became China’s number 1 imported fruit in 2019 at USD 2.3 billion, surpassing cherries.
In May 2019, when Malaysian frozen durian was permitted for export to China, export revenue increased by 32% year-on-year, and the amount continues to increase every year.
