Digital Nomad Visa Application Requirements

Required Documents / Jurisdiction: MDEC (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation)

1	Full passport copy	At least 6 blank pages required
2	Passport-sized ID photo Blue background 35mm × 50mm Face from chin to forehead: 25mm × 30mm Eyes open, mouth closed No hat, hair not covering face	2 copies
3	Resume/CV	English translation + certification
4	Project plan/Contract Preferably a plan of 3 months or longer	English translation + certification
5	Proof of income (payslip acceptable) USD 24,000 or more	English translation + certification
6	Annual income certificate (tax withholding slip) / Tax return / Municipal tax certificate and 3 months of bank statements	English translation + certification
7	Police clearance certificate (obtained from country of nationality)	From prefectural office or embassy of home country
8	Personal Bond	Sign document on website
9	Medical insurance	Coverage valid in Malaysia
10	Additional (optional): Family register if accompanied by spouse or children	English translation + certification
11	MDEC application fee: RM1,000 for principal / RM500 for dependents

* Income from outside Malaysia is not taxed in Malaysia, but work contracted with Malaysian companies is taxable

* Visa for nomad workers up to 2 years / Residence in Malaysia with spouse and children is possible

* Bank accounts usually cannot be opened
