Medical Insurance
Medical Insurance

Malaysia does not have a national health insurance system like Japan, so individuals must purchase their own private insurance.
Public hospitals have low treatment costs but are crowded with locals and medical standards may not meet expectations. Private hospitals operate as businesses and require high deposits for emergencies if you don’t have insurance. Insurance is essential for hospitalization and surgery in Malaysia. A valid Malaysian visa is required to purchase medical insurance.
