Pet Import Permit Application Support

Pets are precious family members. To bring them in and out of Japan, you must undergo inspection at the animal quarantine office of each country and obtain the necessary permits. We provide “Pet Import Permit Application Support” to help you bring your beloved pets to Malaysia.

Since Malaysia is an Islamic country, taxis often refuse to transport dogs. Our service includes airport transfer support to ensure you and your pet arrive safely at your home.

What You Need to Prepare in Japan

Before

1. Obtain English certificates from your veterinarian:

Vaccinations: More than 1 month but less than 1 year before entering Malaysia
Microchip implantation
Health certificate: Issued within 1 month of entry date to Malaysia

2. Book your flight

*Please arrange arrival in Malaysia around midday.
*Additional charges apply for flights arriving between 19:00-07:00

3. Prepare the carrier/cage

*Requirements vary by airline, so please check with your carrier.

4. Animal quarantine inspection

To export from Japan, your pet must be inspected at the Animal Quarantine Service for rabies (and leptospirosis for dogs).
Please contact the Animal Quarantine Service at least 7 days before departure and submit the export inspection application.

Day of

5. Pet quarantine on departure day

Arrive at the quarantine office 1 hour before check-in. Process takes 30-40 minutes if no issues.
You will then receive the export quarantine certificate from Japan.

Our Support Services

Import Permit Application Services

Submit documents 1 and 2 to Malaysia Department of Veterinary Services for import permit application
*Please email documents 1 and 2 after the health examination
Submit import notification to arrival airport quarantine at least 36 hours before departure
*We will be waiting at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Upon arrival in Malaysia, bring original copies of all 3 documents plus import permit copy,
follow staff instructions and proceed to Animal Quarantine with your pet
Immediate release if no issues
*Quarantine may take additional time.
After quarantine completion, we will transport you to your residence.

Import Permit + Airport Transfer from KLIA to Your Home (Kuala Lumpur Area)

For transfers to areas outside Kuala Lumpur (Penang, Johor Bahru, etc.), separate quotation will be provided upon request.

Service Fee

1 pet: JPY 100,800

*Subject to Japanese domestic tax

Additional JPY 10,000 for flights arriving between 19:00 – 07:00
Larger vehicles available for extra luggage at additional cost – please inquire
Transfer fee will be deducted if airport pickup is not required
