About the MM2H Program NEW

New MM2H conditions were announced in June 2024.

The MM2H (Malaysia My Second Home) program is a visa system that allows for long-term stays in Malaysia, with three different categories of conditions and lengths of stay.

  • The Malaysia My Second Home Program is a long-term residence visa program issued in the Malay Peninsula (West Malaysia), which allows foreigners from countries that have diplomatic relations with Malaysia to apply and, if approved, to live in the Malay Peninsula (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, etc.). (Except for Sabah and Sarawak).
  • The applicant’s spouse, unmarried children under the age of 34, parents, parents-in-law, and maids (Platinum only) may apply under this program.

50% Fixed Deposit Withdrawal: Upon receiving approval for the MM2H programme, applicants may withdraw up to 50% of their fixed deposit. Proof of payment must be provided, and all payments must be made after the MM2H endorsement.

50% Fixed Deposit Withdrawal:
After one year from receiving the MM2H visa, the applicant may withdraw up to 50% of the fixed deposit for purposes such as property purchase, education, or medical expenses. Supporting documents and proof of payment must be provided, and the payment must be made after the MM2H visa endorsement.

Partial Fixed Deposit Withdrawal:
After one year from obtaining the MM2H visa, applicants are allowed to withdraw a portion of their fixed deposit for specific purposes such as property purchases, medical expenses, or education.
Applicants below the age of 50 may withdraw up to RM150,000, while those aged 50 and above may withdraw up to RM50,000.
Proof of payment must be provided, and the expenses must occur after the MM2H endorsement.

Additional Information

MM2H – process fees for the main applicant, including pass fees, multi-entry visa fees, journey-performed visa fees, and security bonds, are all covered by agency fees.

⁑ This fee may vary depending on the applicant’s country of origin.

MM2H Applicants must purchase property within one year of visa approval. Properties purchased prior to the visa application are accepted. Properties purchased for the MM2H visa cannot be resold for 10 years unless the applicant purchases another property of higher value.

※ The 90-day stay requirement in Malaysia can be fulfilled by the main applicant and dependents.

⍟ MM2H visa holders are permitted to apply for part-time employment in select industries within Malaysia

PVIP — Up to 50% of the fixed deposit may be withdrawn after one year from the date of obtaining the PVIP Visa, for the purposes of property purchase, medical expenses, or education expenses. The Applicant must provide proof of payment to apply for a withdrawal.

MM2H — Up to 50% of the fixed deposit may be withdrawn one year after obtaining the MM2H Visa, for the purposes of property purchase, medical expenses, education expenses, or domestic tourism. The Applicant must provide proof of payment to apply for a withdrawal. Properties purchased before applying for or receiving the MM2H visa are not eligible for withdrawal from the fixed deposit, as they will not be considered qualifying payments.

▲ PVIP and MM2H Platinum visa holders are permitted to start and operate businesses within Malaysia.
