Visa Balance due to Passport Renewal

MM2H visa will valid for 5 years. When first received the MM2H visa, Immigration office will only issue the visa until 1 month before expiration date of passport,  when change to new passport, must apply for “Visa Balance” to get the remaining number of years. However, visa holder must enter Malaysia for visa balance procedures.

STEP 1 Renewal of Passport

Note: When replacing your passport at the passport office, please inform the officer not to punch a hole in the MM2H visa page, as it is still valid.

 Contact Our Company

At the same time, please send us the photo ID pages of both your old and new passports, along with the visa page, so that we can provide you with further guidance.
STEP 3 Payment Of Agency Supporting Fee

※Customer from Penang and Johor Branches are also requested to pay the additional mailing costs.
STEP 4 Preparation Of Required Documents For Visa Balance

  • New Passport　●Passport Size Photo (Blue Background）3.5cm x 5.0cm 1piece
  • Copy of New Passport ID Page    ●Copy of New Passport ID Page
  • Copy of MM2H Visa Page  ●Copy of Approval Letter  ●Other Documents Will Be Prepared By Our Company (only your signature will be required.）
STEP 5 Submission of Required Documents in Malaysia

Submit old and new passports along with the required documents and visa fee at the local office.
STEP 6 Visa Balance Process at the Ministry of Tourism

Our staff will handle the procedure on your behalf at the Ministry of Tourism.
STEP 7 Returning Documents

Once the procedure is complete, we will contact you and return the passport along with the visa fee receipt.

  • Visa Fee　RM500　ｘ　remaining period of visa
  • Journey Performed Visa　RM500　（Only apply to those which the MM2H visa expired ）

  • Please complete the procedures in Malaysia before the expiration date of the MM2H visa on your old passport.
    If stay in Malaysia：If visa expired, will be considered an illegal overstayer.
    If stay in Japan：If visa expired, will be required to pay the Journey Performed Visa fee of RM500 again when come Malaysia to apply for a visa extension.

Bank Support Fee

It is recommend that you proceed the passport number change procedure yourself at your bank after completing the visa balance procedure at the Immigration Office.

For customers staying outside of Kuala Lumpur within Malaysia

※Customer is required to enter Malaysia for the Visa Balance procedure.

Except Kuala Lumpur, our company also have branches in Penang and Johor Bahru. Customers who are unable to visit the Kuala Lumpur branch can apply visa balance procedures through the Penang or Johor Bahru branch.

Our Penang and Johor branches will collect your signatures on the required documents, your old and new passports, and the visa fee. The collected documents will then be sent to our Kuala Lumpur branch via DHL. DHL’s secure delivery service for valuables is highly reliable, and to date, there have been no cases of lost items. However, please note that we are not take responsibility for any issues that may arise during DHL’s handling.

The delivery fee will be RM200 for round-trip service. We kindly ask for your consideration.
