PVIP : Conditions and Procedures

Conditions for the Premium Visa

PVIP stand for Malaysia Premium Visa Program. It is a long-term residence visa designed for high-net-worth individuals, offering a maximum validity of 20 years (5+5+5+5 years). The PVIP permits residence, employment, business activities, and education in Malaysia. Upon expiry, the visa can be renewed for an additional 20 years. Unlike the MM2H (Malaysia My Second Home) visa, which imposes residency requirements and property purchase conditions for applicants under the age of 50, the PVIP notably has no residency requirement.

A New Visa Program Focused on Attracting High-Net-Worth Individuals: Malaysia Premium Visa Program (PVIP)

As a general trend, immigration policies around the world have been tightening, making it increasingly difficult for foreigners to relocate. In contrast, Malaysia—being a multicultural and multiethnic country—has been considered relatively accessible in terms of visa acquisition. At its peak, the traditional MM2H (Malaysia My Second Home) program reportedly received as many as 8,000 applications per year.

The newly introduced Malaysia Premium Visa Program (PVIP) is said to be designed to attract high-net-worth individuals for long-term stays and investment purposes. As a result, the majority of applications are not from individuals, but rather from foreign-affiliated companies and organizations. It is widely believed that the Malaysian government is particularly aiming to stimulate foreign direct investment (FDI) through this initiative.

It is also well-suited for educational relocation, which has recently been gaining popularity among families seeking international school education abroad.
