SMM2H: Conditions and Procedure

• Recently, the financial situation of applicants is being strictly monitored at the time of application.
• Please note that the exchange rate between ringgit and yen is also constantly changing.

• Please fill in the necessary information on the application form we provide and submit it.
• In case of proof of income, six months’ salary or public pension notice and bank transfer details.
• You can also choose to submit a 6-month fixed deposit certificate instead of an income certificate (6-month balance certificate)
• Certificate of employment
• Certificate of Criminal Record (for subjects only: within 6 months issued by the country of origin). For foreign nationals residing in Japan, please contact us.
• Copy of family register (for married persons only / original and certified translation document)
• Photocopy of all pages of passport (if it has been less than a year since renewal, old passport is also required)
• Eight passport-sized ID photos (in color, with blue background) for each person
• Please sign the document we provide with the same signature as on your passport.

・Once the above documents are prepared, we will send them to the local agent.

• Medical examination (blood test/chest x-ray/urinalysis) for all applicants (at a local private clinic)
• Insurance coverage (must be from Sarawak insurance company).
• Open an account and pre-sign a fixed deposit application form for MM2H
• Certification of documents (if you can do it in Japan and Peninsular Malaysia in advance, prepare them and send them by mail)
• You will need to stay there for about 5 days（Please consult with us if you do not have enough days/short of time to stay)

• Five to six months after the second step an approval letter is issued.
• Pay the MM2H visa fee at the immigration office and receive a visa sticker in your passport.
• Please plan your stay well in advance.

• You cannot work formally in Malaysia. Applicants over 50 years old can work part-time up to 20 hours a week (permission from the Immigration Bureau is required).
  You can be an investor (stocks) or an officer, but you cannot be in the business on the front lines.
  If you want to work or do business on the front lines, you will need a work visa. You can do volunteer work. You can buy real estate and invest without a visa such as S-MM2H.
• Any activities that incite Malaysians politically or religiously are strictly prohibited.
• You must stay in Sarawak for at least 30 days per year.
• All visa holders must continue to have local medical insurance while they hold the visa.
• Once your visa application has been approved, you will have six months to collect your visa in Sarawak.
• To extend beyond the sixth year, you will need to undergo another medical examination, submit insurance documents and proof of assets, and undergo further review.

1. There will be a certification fee for the following documents. (Certification fee by our affiliated lawyer)

2. On-site medical examination and testing fees (blood, urine, X-ray)：RM236 (8,260 yen) / person

3. Local medical insurance　RM 1,726-4,928　（60,410 yen to 172,410 yen）/ person

4. Report RM40（1,400 yen）/ person
