MM2H Visa Extension Procedures Following Passport Renewal
The MM2H visa is valid for five years. When you first applied for the MM2H visa, the Immigration Department issued it only until the expiration date of your original passport. Therefore, when you obtain a new passport, you must complete an “extension procedure” to apply for the remaining validity period under the new passport.

- New passport
- One passport-sized photo (blue background) 3.5cm x 5.0cm
- Copy of the photo page of the new passport
- Copy of the photo page of the old passport
- Copy of the MM2H visa page
- Copy of the approval letter
- Other documents will be prepared by our company (customer signature only required)

Please complete the procedure in Malaysia before the expiry date of the MM2H visa stated in your old passport.
- If staying in Malaysia: Once the visa validity expires, it will be considered an overstay
- If staying in Japan: Upon entering Malaysia and proceeding with the visa renewal process, you will be required to pay the RM500 Journey Performed Visa fee again
Bank Support Fees
After completing the procedures at the Immigration Department, we recommend that you update your passport number at the bank yourself.
If you wish to have our staff accompany you, please make a reservation in advance.
- Bank Accompaniment Support Fee: RM300 + 8% (up to 2 hours)
For clients staying outside of Kuala Lumpur
In addition to our Kuala Lumpur branch, we also have branches in Penang and Johor Bahru. Customers who are unable to visit the Kuala Lumpur branch may proceed with the application procedures at either the Penang branch or the Johor Bahru branch.
Required documents may be submitted and signed at the respective branch offices, and the documents will then be sent to the Kuala Lumpur branch via DHL courier service. The round-trip delivery fee is RM300.
