MM2H Visa Extension Procedures Following Passport Renewal

The MM2H visa is valid for five years. When you first applied for the MM2H visa, the Immigration Department issued it only until the expiration date of your original passport. Therefore, when you obtain a new passport, you must complete an “extension procedure” to apply for the remaining validity period under the new passport.

To complete the visa extension procedure, you must enter Malaysia.

Passport Renewal

Note: When renewing your passport at the passport office, please inform the officer not to punch holes in the MM2H visa page as it is still valid.

Contact Our Company

Please send us the photo page and visa page of both your old and new passports. We will guide you accordingly.

Payment of Agency Service Fee

*Customers from the Penang and Johor branches are also required to pay additional postage fees.

Preparation of Required Documents for Visa Extension

  • New passport
  • One passport-sized photo (blue background) 3.5cm x 5.0cm
  • Copy of the photo page of the new passport
  • Copy of the photo page of the old passport
  • Copy of the MM2H visa page
  • Copy of the approval letter
  • Other documents will be prepared by our company (customer signature only required)

Submission of Required Documents in Malaysia

Submit the old and new passports together with the required documents at our local office and make payment for the visa fee.

Visa Extension Procedure at the Ministry of Tourism

Our staff will handle the procedures at the Ministry of Tourism on your behalf.

Return of Documents

Once the process is completed, we will contact you and return your passport together with the visa fee receipt.

MM2H Visa RM500 × Remaining Visa Validity Period
Journey Performed Visa RM500 (Only for those whose visa validity has expired)

Please complete the procedure in Malaysia before the expiry date of the MM2H visa stated in your old passport.

  • If staying in Malaysia: Once the visa validity expires, it will be considered an overstay
  • If staying in Japan: Upon entering Malaysia and proceeding with the visa renewal process, you will be required to pay the RM500 Journey Performed Visa fee again

Bank Support Fees

After completing the procedures at the Immigration Department, we recommend that you update your passport number at the bank yourself.

If you wish to have our staff accompany you, please make a reservation in advance.

  • Bank Accompaniment Support Fee: RM300 + 8% (up to 2 hours)

For clients staying outside of Kuala Lumpur

In addition to our Kuala Lumpur branch, we also have branches in Penang and Johor Bahru. Customers who are unable to visit the Kuala Lumpur branch may proceed with the application procedures at either the Penang branch or the Johor Bahru branch.

Required documents may be submitted and signed at the respective branch offices, and the documents will then be sent to the Kuala Lumpur branch via DHL courier service. The round-trip delivery fee is RM300.
